With extreme 42C temperatures there was little hope of the seabreeze arriving, and at 1.30pm the Race Committee called it a day, effectively bringing the regatta to a close. Singaporean sailors (Samantha Neubronner, Jia Min Audrey Lim and Jillian Lee), Hong Kong sailor (Wai Chi Wan) and USA sailor (Drew Gallagher) filled the top five places overall. Nia Jerwood (WA), the first sailor from an Oceania nation, is the new Oceania Champion and consequently has also won the 2010 Australian Optimist Championships. Eliza Wilkinson (NZ) finished second and Lachlan Gilmour (WA) was third. Lachlan Gilmour was second in the Australian Championships and Jack Felsenthal (Vic) finished third.
